Kenneth W. Cavagnolo

I am an astrophysicist at the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur (OCA) in Nice, France. My research is focused on better understanding 1) the formation and evolution of large-scale structure, 2) the influence of black holes on structure growth, 3) and the properties of the magnetized universe. I am especially interested in low-frequency radio astronomy and implementing methods to simplify and improve interferometric radio data analysis. My work primarily utilizes observations in the X-ray and radio wavebands, but also incorporates analytic modeling, infrared, optical, and ultraviolet observations. My prior and on-going work are discussed on the “Research” page and you can find out more about me on the “Personal” page.

My dissertation advisors were Megan Donahue & Mark Voit, I did my first postdoc with Brian McNamara, and I currently work with Chiara Ferrari. “Science is a collaborative effort,” and I have worked with (to name a few) Jack Baldwin, Chris Carilli, Alastair Edge, Emmanuel Momjian, Paul Nulsen, Ming Sun, and Michael Wise.
