Scope of the meeting

The scope of this workshop, as well as of the ones held in 2003, 2004 and 2005, includes questions in cosmology where the use of nonlinear dynamics plays an important role, such as reconstructing the dynamical history and the present peculiar velocities from observational data or studying the formation of caustics.

At the present workshop, the following topics will also be highlighted:

• dark energy and the problem of the cosmological constant;
• voids;
• novel statistical and hydrodynamic methods for the description of cosmological dynamics;
• precision N-body simulations as both a tool of investigation and a testbed for other methods.

As in 2004, participation of observers (R. Brent Tully, I. Karachentsev, D. Makarov) is going to strengthen the link between theoretical and observational cosmology.
