Travel and Local Information
Getting to the meeting
The meeting will take place in the Fizeau building on the science campus ("Valrose") of the University of Nice. It's a 10 minute walk from the "Valrose Université" tram stop. Access to the campus is restricted, so please register at the entrance.
Getting to Nice
By Plane
Nice has excellent connections by plane from most bigger European cities. When arriving at the airport, it is easiest to take the airport bus line 98 (if you need to get close to the promenade, Place Massena or Place Garibaldi), or line 99 (if you need to get close to the main train station, or to the university).
By Train
If you arrive by train, the easiest to get around in Nice is to take the tram to your hotel or the university. There is only one line and most places are easily reachable by foot from the tram.
By Car
Seriously?? Look at how they drive here...
Staying in Nice
Nice has plenty of hotels, but be aware that booking on short notice can sometimes be expensive. To be close to the university, anything south of the train station and/or within walking distance of the tram is advisible.
Things to do in and around Nice
Many recommendations can be found here. End of september is still perfect for swimming in the sea. And for art fans, the Chagall and Matisse museums are very worthwhile.
